Words: Financial Confession

The power of words is central to Christian life and the Kingdom of God. As John 1:1 states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Scripture emphasizes both God's words and the impact of our own. Proverbs tells us that wise words bring healing, that guarding our speech protects us from trouble, and that truthfulness pleases God (Proverbs 12:18; 21:23; 12:22).

As we mature in faith, God continues to refine our use of language, even correcting us when necessary, as James describes the tongue as a small but powerful force, capable of great harm (James 3:5-6).
